What's On At The Black Horse
Isidoro Roitman - 22/05/08
.
World-renowned lutenist, Isidoro Roitman, came and played a free lunchtime lute recital at The Black Horse as part of the Leicester Early Music Festival. Afterwards, he played this piece especially for Marny, as she had been busy in the kitchen throughout his performance.
Leicester Ambassadors Brass Band
On Sunday 18th May, The Leicester Ambassadors Brass Band gave a free concert in the beer garden, here at the Black Horse. Unfortunately, the camera didn't quite focus properly for some of the video (some might say fortunately!), but the sound is OK. Let's hope rthey come back and do similar next year.
The Tara Simms Experience
Tara Simms is always popular at the Black Horse, but at our last beer festival she was joined by bass and drums to form The Tara Simms Experience. She was joined by the landlord, Phil, for a 5½ minute improvised blues jam. Picture isn't great, but the atmosphere was!
Sunday Night Quiz
Every Sunday at 9pm, we have our ever-popular Pub Quiz. It's only £1 per person to enter, and all the entry money is divided out for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams. The quiz is generally over by 10:40pm, and involves a mixture of subjects: music, sport, general knowledge, tv, films and anything else we can find questions about! The main idea is to have some fun, and due to the variety of subjects, it's not always the same people winning every week.
